Get wild with Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Think Halloween pumpkins should be cute? Scary? Look like Jabba the Hut? It’s anything goes – and the wackier the better – for the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Pumpkin Decorating Contest.

The contest will award first place winners in three categories: Kids (ages birth-12), Teens (grade 6-12) and Families. All entries will be on display in the library’s Children’s Room. The pumpkins will be judged by a VIP panel and prizes awarded in each category.

Just a few rules: artificial pumpkins are allowed, so are real pumpkins, but the real ones cannot be carved or hollowed out. No lighting – flame or electric – is allowed. One entry per person, and one Family entry per family. Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form, available here or at the Children’s Desk.

Drop off decorated pumpkins at the downtown library’s Children’s Desk any time during open hours Saturday, October 14, through Thursday, October 19. The winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the Halloween Storytime at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 21. Winners need not be present.

All pumpkins must be picked up by 4 p.m. Saturday, October 28. Any left after that time will be discarded.

Questions? Call the Children’s Desk at (920) 322-3940.
